ShareFile App for Windows 8

ShareFile for Windows 8 allows you to browse your account, download documents, send and request files via email, and add and manage folder access on your ShareFile account. Downloaded files can also be made available while offline. For Enterprise accounts, IT administrators will be able to control and audit access.

Note: this app is for Windows 8 tablets and computers only.

Using ShareFile for Windows 8

When you first download the Windows 8 app from the Windows 8 App Store, you will be prompted to enter the email address associated with your ShareFile account. This will walk you through the steps to log in to your account.

Note: the Windows 8 ShareFile app does support using your company credentials.

Search: To search the entire account you can enter a file or folder name at any time in the search field.

Menu: By right-clicking on the screen, you will see the menu bar at the bottom of the screen appear. This will allow you to edit folder settings, add a folder, upload a file, select all files, or send selected files. Clicking 'Refresh' will refresh the folder content.

Upload Files: By clicking 'Upload' in the menu bar, you will be able to browse to select a file from your device or computer to upload to that ShareFile folder.

 Download Files: To download a file, select the file and then select the 'download' button. The download progress will be indicated at the bottom of the screen. After the file has successfully downloaded you will be able to tap to open the file, which will launch the file in the appropriate application to run that file type.

Pending Transfers: Files that are in the process of downloading/uploading or in queue to be downloaded/uploaded are shown in this menu.

 Sending Files: To send a file, select the file(s) you wish to send, right click, and select 'Send.' You will be able to enter the email address(es) of the desired recipients, the subject, and a message (optional). Other options include link expiration, sending a copy of the email to yourself, requiring the recipient(s) to login, and being notified after each download.

Note: This tool does support ShareFile StorageZones.
